Sales channel integration

If you are selling on multiple sales channels, you will want to connect Avasam with various marketplaces and websites.

When you first loginto Avasam, you won’t have any sales channels integrated, and the screen will look like this:

Once there are channels integrated, the list will look like this: Sales channel integration The list displays information about the integrated sales channels as follows:

Field Description
Image The logo of the channel.
Sales channel The type of channel.
Account name The name you gave this channel integration when setting it up.
Status Whether the channel is active or not.


Add sales channel

You can add one or more sales channels to Avasam, and they will work simultaneously.

To add a new sales channel:

  1. Click on the ‘Add sales channel’ button.
  2. Locate the sales channel you want to integrate. Add sales channel
  3. Click ‘Add’ to start the integration process. We will use the WooCommerce integration as an example. WooCommerce integration
  4. Enter the name for this integration.
  5. Click the ‘Next’ button to proceed.
  6. Enter the connection information, so that Avasam can access the website:

a. Website end point:
I. This is the address of end point in the website. Your developer can provide this.
b. Consumer key:
I. This is part of the authorisation details for connecting to the site. Your developer can provide this.
c. Consumer secret:
I. This is the second part of the authorisation details for connecting to the site. Your developer can provide this.

  1. Click the ‘Next’ button to complete the integration and return to the sales channel list. Configuration screen
  • Click ‘Cancel’ to abort the integration.
  • Fields marked with an asterisk (*) are compulsory and must be completed.

Update sales channel integrations

If you want to amend the settings and configuration of the sales channel integration, you can do this from here.

To do this:

  1. Click on the entry in the sales channel list.
  2. The channel information will be opened. Update channel integrations
  3. If you make any adjustments or changes to the information within this section, you will see a note at the bottom stating ‘Unsaved changes’.
  4. Click ‘Save’ to apply and save the changes you make.
  5. You will be returned to the list of channel integrations.
  • Clicking ‘Cancel’ or the ‘Sales channel integrations’ link at the top left will return you to the channel list without saving any changes.

Re-authorise channel

If you are not receiving orders from the website, it may be that the connection is having a problem, or settings have changed.

If this is the case:

  1. In the list of channel integrations, locate the one that has an issue.
  2. Click on the entry to open it.
  3. Clicking the ‘Reauthorise’ button will allow you to verify and update the settings. Re-authorise channel
  4. Click ‘Save’ to apply any changes.
  5. You will be returned to the list of channel integrations.
  • Clicking ‘Cancel’ or the ‘Sales channel integrations’ link at the top left will return you to the channel list without saving any changes.

Shipping mapping

When a customer makes an order, they will have selected a shipping method, or expect a certain level of shipping service. Mapping the channels shipping services to those in Avasam speeds up dispatch and reduces complaints and mistakes.

  • Multiple channels can all have different services mapped to the same Avasam shipping service.
  • One channel can have multiple services mapped to the same Avasam service, too.
  • You cannot map a channel shipping service on one channel to multiple Avasam services. You can however look at Order automation sequences instead.

Create a new shipping mapping

To create a new mapping between the channel and Avasam under ‘Shipping mapping (marketplace to Avasam)’:

  1. Select the service you want to map under the ‘Sales channel shipping service’ dropdown list.
  2. Select the Avasam shipping service to map this against under the ‘Avasam shipping service’ dropdown list.
  3. Click ‘Map field’ to apply the new mapping.
  4. Repeat to create more mappings.
  • This will only affect orders downloaded after it is mapped. It will not affect orders already in Avasam.

Deleting a shipping mapping

Shipping mappings can be deleted, if you are no longer using that service on the channel.

To delete a mapping:

  1. Locate the entry in the list.
  2. Click on the ‘X’ button to the right of the entry.
  3. Confirm deletion by clicking on ‘OK’.
  4. Repeat if any other mappings need to be deleted.

Payment mapping

When a customer places an order, they pay using one of many supported methods, including Adyen, SagePay or Stripe for credit/debit cards, PayPal, eCheque, etc. By mapping the payment methods to labels in Avasam, you can track usage and the costs involved in supporting different payment methods on your channels to make commercial decisions about operational costs and growth.

Create a new payment mapping

  1. Select the Avasam payment option to map this against under the ‘Avasam payment provider’ drop down list.
  2. Enter the name of the payment provider you want to map under the ‘Sales channel payment provider’ field.
  3. Click ‘Map field’ to apply the new mapping.
  4. Repeat if necessary.
  • This will only affect orders downloaded after it is mapped. It will not affect orders already in Avasam.

Deleting a payment mapping

Where a mapping is in place but you want to remove it, you can remove them easily.

To delete a mapping:

  1. Under the ‘Payment mapping’ section of the channel integration, find the entry you wish to delete.
  2. Click on the ‘X’ to the right of that entry.
  3. Click ‘OK’ to confirm deletion.
  • This will only affect orders downloaded after it is mapped. It will not affect orders already in Avasam.

SKU mapping

If you want Avasam to automatically recognise the correct Avasam Inventory SKU when the order is downloaded to Avasam, then you will need ensure they are mapped correctly.Click here for more information.

  • Mapping also allows Avasam to send stock level updates to the listing when the stock level changes.

Automapping

Automapping prompts Avasam to attempt to map SKUs on Avasam and the selling channel automatically where they match.

To automapyour SKUs:

  1. Go to ‘SKU mapping’.
  2. Select ‘Actions available’ from the drop down list.
  3. Toggle on the Automapping feature.
  • Where there is even a small difference, such as a space or an additional character, the automapping feature will not link the SKUs. There must be an exact match.

Stock update

‘Stock update’ forces an update of the stock level in Avasam to all currently mapped SKUs on this selling channel.

To trigger a stock update:

  1. Go to ‘SKU mapping’.
  2. Select ‘Actions available’ from the drop down list.
  3. Toggle on the Stock update feature.
  • Stock update can only be triggered once per day.

Download

The ‘Download’ option prompts Avasam to check the sales channel for the most recent list of SKUs. It may not take effect immediately.

To trigger a download:

  1. Go to ‘SKU mapping’.
  2. Select ‘Actions available’ from the drop down list.
  3. Toggle on the Download feature.

Create a new SKU mapping

Creating a new SKU mapping ensures that the selected sales channel listing receives the latest stock levels, and the orders in Avasam connect to the right SKU.

To create a new mapping:

  1. Open/expand the ‘SKU mapping’ section by clicking on the arrow to the right of the title. SKU mapping
  2. Find the SKU/item in the ‘Sales Channel SKU’ list.
  3. Click the SKU to select (highlight) it.
  4. Find the ‘Avasam SKU’ youwant to link the other SKU to in the ‘Avasam SKU’ list.
  5. Click on the SKU to select (highlight) it.
  6. Click the ‘Map them’ button to confirm.
  • You can use the ‘Search SKU’ box to filter the list.

Update mapping

If an existing mapping between a sales channel SKU and an Avasam SKU is no longer correct, then you can update it.

To update a mapping:

  1. Open/expand the ‘SKU mapping’ section by clicking on the arrow to the right of the title. Update mapping
  2. Find the SKU/item you want to adjust in the ‘Sales channel SKU’ list.
  3. Click the SKU to select (highlight) it. The ‘Mapped SKU’ column displays the current mapping.
  4. Find the ‘Avasam SKU’ you want to link the other SKU to instead in the ‘Avasam SKU’ list.
  5. Click on the SKU to select (highlight) it.
  6. Click the ‘Map them’ button to confirm.
  • You can use the ‘Search SKU’ box to filter the list.

Remove an integration

To remove an existing integration from Avasam:

  1. Click on the red ‘Remove account’ button.
  2. Confirm by clicking ‘OK’. Remove an integration
  3. You will be returned to the sales channel list.
  • Click ‘Cancel’ if you change your mind. You will be returned to the sales channel integration.
